Legion House 1 built in 1981 independently owned; Legion House 2 built in 1989 sponsored by Manitoba Housing both run by a board of directors.
Legion Houses is a strong community of 55 plus independent living people. Some of us are working some of us are retired volunteering at other facilities close by but we are a community who cares for and looks out for one another.
We have residents here from all over Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario anyone over 55yrs. is welcome to apply with preference given to veterans and their spouses.
Total of 66 suites of those 4 are 2 bedrooms, you pay for phone, cable and internet, and we look after the rest. Legion House 1 at 275 is a set rate rent; Legion House 2 at 265 is 30% of monthly income meant for lower income people. There are guidelines for income maximums for your ability to rent.
Located close to downtown across street from grocery store, 3 pharmacies close by within walking distance of doctor’s office, optometrist, dental offices, and massage therapies close by, physical therapy office close by, restaurants within walking distance, Senior community centre just down the street.
We have a Service for Seniors in General Living Coordinator, Custodian, Meal Program, Chief Administrative Officer, on site daily and maintenance as needed in the building. Activities planned within the building as well as trips away.
